Festival Begins: September 11th 2006

Submissions deadline: Local voting complete and all first place winners into the online contest by November 16th, 2006

Online Voting period: November 20th - November 22nd 2006

Prizes awarded on: November 30th, 2006

Voting and Prizes:

1. Winners are chosen at each location in three age groups, 6-9, 10-12, 13 and up. Club program staff run local contests. First place prize winners receive a portable CD player and advance to the BGCSPS online contest and the Regional/National festival (if sanctioned with .net).

2. In the online Major Prize contest all participating locations vote and the 1st place Major Prize winner receives a DVD player and advances to the Grand Prize contest.  

3. In the Grand Prize contest all locations vote online and one winner is chosen from the 06-07 DVD Major Prize winners. Grand Prize wins an XBOX.

Requirements & Specs:

Most news programs have a theme song. Create an up-to-date version that could accompany a local or national newscast. Incorporate lyrics or voiceovers (“This is the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric.”) or simply create a music-only track.

2006_11_jim13_your_club 30-seconds to 60 seconds in length .WMV file format 96Kb/sec. A digital picture of each youth submitting shall be included in an email to john@bgcsps.org.

Contest Participants: All Boys & Girls Clubs of South Puget Sound including school and community outreach sites.
