Carissa Batka

Carissa grew up in Tacoma and attended Franklin Pierce High School, graduating in 2002. Her dream has always been to help others, which is why she thought that becoming a nurse was the answer. After starting pre nursing classes she realized that the sight of blood made her a little queasy. After much consideration, she decided to take a different path in life. She graduated from Pacific Lutheran University in the Spring of 2007, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and concentration in Marketing. She spent some time in the Television industry and decided that she needed more purpose in her life. That is how she ended up at the Boys & Girls Club in the summer of 2008 where she hopes to make a positive difference in the lives of others for years to come!
